Not to brag, but I get this question a lot. “Rickey, what do you use on your beard?” The old me wouldn’t share what I use. I would laugh it off and say “just let it grow, bro.” The new, 30 year old me is in a sharing mood. What do I use? How do I maintain healthy beard growth? One thing I learned from Brandon, aka B with the Beard, is healthy beard growth doesn’t start with the products you use, but what you put inside of your body (btw, check him out @blackmensbeard on IG).

Yes, I am guilty of enjoying my cigars, having a glass or two of whiskey, and bingeing, daily, on my favorite carry-out spots. Is it frequent? Of course not, but I do indulge when I have the opportunity. Fellas, we have to become more mindful of the food we intake and be aware of our water intake. (By the way, it's summer. Have you increased your water intake as well? Anyways, another conversation for another post...) That means a higher intake of fruits and vegetables, and lowering intake of processed foods. Yes... less fats and sugar... a daily intake of multivitamins... I use My Growth Vitamins by Evan Alexander Grooming and recently began using GNC’s Biotin Vitamins. When I finish that, I’ll search for a multivitamin as well, so if you know any brands, feel free to let me know!

Now what is it that I actually apply to my beard when it comes to a wash, a moisturizer and a sealant. Yall are probably like what is a sealant? When I first started growing my beard I was using Aussie Shampoo and Hair Grease. I know, absolutely ridiculous but you can’t blame a first time beard grower. I gained a lot of knowledge over time, and of course through trial and error, on a difference between a beard wash, a conditioner and also a sealant (yes we refer to balms and oils as sealants). What is the proper way to use those products and how frequently do I stay on my regimen? Well stay tuned, I have a special video I’ll be releasing soon showing you my full beard regimen from start to finish!
